| Glow Rod Restoration - File Description |
 |
Description:
Sir Stroud makes his FileFront modding debut today, with this restored item for the first Knights of the Old Republic game. In the game files, there were a model and texture left over for a 'Glow Rod' item. It was never seen or used in the game, however.
Sir Stroud has decided to rectify this and has restored it for you to play with. It uses the animations of the Stun Baton, and can be found on the Outcast Corpse in the Undercity of Taris.
This mod uses the baseitems.2da file, so the author has used the TSL Patcher installer to remove potential compatibility issues.
Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.

GLOW ROD RESTORATION
============================
AUTHOR:
Sir Stroud
ABOUT:
This mod will restore the Glow Rod that was cut from the final release of KotOR as a melee weapon. Apparently Bioware had decided it wasn't needed and dummied it out of the game. Thankfully, its model, texture, and icon were left in the game's memory, which made it possible for me to restore it.
The Glow Rod can be found in-game on an Outcast corpse in the Taris Undercity, though you will have to find the corpse on your own. (Hint: This particular Outcast was searching for the Promised Land)
For those who don't want to search for the Outcast corpse, or who have already left Taris, type "giveitem g_i_glowrod01" into the cheat console to spawn a Glow Rod in your inventory.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Extract the archive and run TSLPatcher.exe. Follow the program's instructions to install the mod.
Either find the Glow Rod in-game as described above or spawn it in your inventory via KSE or console command. The code for the Glow Rod is g_i_glowrod01.
COMPATIBILITY:
This mod is compatible with other mods as long as none of the other mods edit the Glow Rod entry in the Baseitems.2da file.
BUGS:
None that I currently am aware of.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:
I would like to thank the people at LucasForums for writing excellent modding tutorials, Fred Tetra for creating KotOR Tool, Stoffe for creating TSLPatcher, Shem and the rest of the staff at KOTOR Files since they work hard to keep the site in pristine condition, and Bioware for creating such an excellent game.

mahh the mod isnt all that, ive always thought maybe putting a lightsaber onto the end of a baton stunner, could make like a lightsaber dagger |
Sir_Stroud From: Joined: March 24th, 2008 Posts: 3 | I only have the first Knights of the Old Republic game for the PC, so I'm unable to make a TSL version of my mod. Sorry.
However, since I'm currently looking for a reasonably-priced copy of TSL online, I might be able to create a TSL version of my mod in the future, provided that Obsidian left the Glow Rod's files in TSL's game data. |

rancorman From: Joined: April 5th, 2007 Posts: 121 | I looked up this item before, i think it is ment to light up areas. there is also an item called "light collar" which is sopost to free your hands from having to hold the rod. That would be useful in kashyyyk. 9/10. i recremend looking into the collar item. |

I think I'll stick with the *ahem* mature one. He's much more appealing that way. |
Sir_Stroud From: Joined: March 24th, 2008 Posts: 3 | Good idea about the Collar Light, rancorman. I've already partially restored it as I speak, but I've hit a snag in regards to the positioning of the Collar Light when being worn. It currently is positioned so that it floats in front of the wearer's forehead instead of being correctly positioned around the neck. Since I know absolutely nothing about editing models, I'll need some help with repositioning the Collar Light model before I'm able to release a restoration for it.
