| PC Species Soundset Booster Pack - File Description |
 |
Description:
Sound mods are rare, but usually fun when they’re actually released to the public. We got ourselves another one to have fun with in the first Knights of the Old Republic game by our good old friend RedRob41.
If you’re wondering if this sounds or looks familiar, you’re probably right. It’s a sound set mod. However, this is a totally different one than the one the author released on Halloween last year. This time you get totally new sound sets to play with.
Have you ever used tk102’s KSE?

Most of you should say yes since both his 3.3.2 and 3.3.3 version have currently well over 104,000 downloads so most of you know what I’m talking about. Have you ever just changed your player character or a party member into something totally different like a Jawa? You think it’s fun, but then they sound human when they’re switched to their character or in battle. This is when RedRob41 comes in.
In this release you get choose from Biths, Jawas, Tusken Raiders, and Hutts. The original release gave you eleven sound sets and this “add on” you can get right here will give four more to play with. Just use the TSL Patcher to install the mod and use tk102’s KSE and follow the directions in the readme and on the screenshot. Enjoy!
Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.

IF YOU ARE EVER IN ANY DOUBT ABOUT INSTALLING ANY MODS, PLEASE REMEMBER TO ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR FILES BEFORE INSTALLATION, JUST IN CASE.
WARNING: THIS INSTALLER MAY REPLACE ANY FILES OF THE SAME NAME THAT ARE ALREADY PRESENT IN YOUR OVERRIDE FOLDER!
================================================================
Description: This mod will allow you to play using an alien speech soundset, thus making your character speak alien languages during simple tasks (like unlocking doors & items, or when entering stealth mode etc). It will complete all missing entries in each of the included ssf files (so that all NPCs will also have full soundsets), and add a few new ones.
4 included soundsets are: Bith (can also be used for Ithorians), Hutt, Jawa, & Tusken (Sand Person).
This is an add-on to my earlier soundset mod (which included 11 alien soundsets). To play as a Wookiee, use Zaalbar's soundset (since it is already complete).
================================================================
Directions: Please click TSLPatcher (InstallMod).exe to start Installation. It will then modify dialog.tlk, and the included ssf files, and move all the new wave files to the streamsounds folder in your SWKotOR directory.
Next, in order to hear the sounds in-game, you will need to use the Kotor Savegame Editor by tk102. KSE is available at http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php
Once you've opened the Editor (see screenshot jpg):
1 - click on the savegame file that you want to edit
2 - highlight the Soundset line
3 - select the new soundset that you want to use
4 - click the Change soundset button. The Soundset line (2) will update.
5 - click the Commit Changes button. This will save all changes that you have made.
It's usually best to do this with a new game (as soon as possible), but you can edit saved games at any time. If you restore a previous save, the changes will not be present.

This is really sad. Is it really too much trouble to read the review or the readme file? No, seriously people; is it too much trouble? |
brknbenjamn4 Joined: April 18th, 2008 Posts: 20 | A bit odd, soundsets are wonderful, however all of my characters soundsets i.e Bao-Dur, Atton, etc. have disapeared. Is this anyway related to the mod, or is it just a folly mistake on my behalf?
Ah, now I understand; basically all of my K2 Sounds were somehow deleted I believe. Pretty sure that's what happened, just after I installed the original Elven PC sound, which was after getting this one.
I don't suppose there's a way to fix this is there? |
redrob41 From: (Edmonton) Joined: November 1st, 2007 Posts: 66 | well, I made both soundset mods for KotOR 1. I haven't tried them with TSL, so I have no idea how they would affect any existing sounds for TSL. I don't see how it would delete your sounds. |
