|Rebuilt Jedi Enclave Theme Remastered - File Description
Description:
As some of you may have noticed that we donít really get too many music mods. Mostly because of copyright issues, this has limited those types of mods in making it here, though many have tried. I really do love the music in the Knights of the Old Republic series. I sometimes will love playing it when Iím having a rough day and when playing one of the soothing tracks, it helps me to relax.
PastramiX, making his FileFront debut; has done a little music tweaking with some of the music from Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Remember the Jedi Enclave scene where you meet the gathered Jedi Masters? Thereís a piece of music that plays that I just love. Itís one of those music tracks that can ease my mind when I feel a little blue.
Itís a minor tweak as he has a different part of the same track playing faintly in the background. Those with a trained ear will be able to notice the slight difference. To know more of what the author has done, just read his readme about how he did it. Also make sure you read the installation instructions since they are different than about 98% of the mods you install here. Enjoy!
Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.

Rebuilt Jedi Enclave Theme Remastered
When I was recently playing KotOR II, I got to the Rebuilt Jedi Enclave
and found that the certain music playing was really good. However,
I felt there could be some improvement. So, since I have ACID Music Studio,
I decided to somehow "enhance" the current music. Doing some tweaking, I added
a mirror track to some parts of the music, and added a bit of an echo to some parts as well.
If you listen very closely, you can also hear the main theme playing faintly in the background.
I added that there to give it the feeling that you've come "full circle" on your journey, from start to finish.
Anyways, I'd love some feedback, as I'm pondering on whether to completely remaster the soundtrack.
First, I recommend downloading the High Quality Music Patch from either Obsidian's or KotOR Files' website.
After installing that patch, go to your default KotOR II installation folder, usually at C:Program FilesLucasArtsSWKotOR2.
Once there, go to the StreamMusic folder and find the files "mus_a_650.wav" and "mus_jedi.wav", and backup said files.
Now, simply put "mus_a_650.mp3" and "mus_jedi.mp3" from this mod folder into the StreamMusic folder.
There, you're done!
Remove the modded files and put the original ones back in the StreamMusic folder.

Hey, the new music is just wonderful. The tones are a bit deeper, fuller and clearer, so that it touchs you. You can hear the past of the Jedi better and you can feel that there was once something that is now forgotten or even gone.
I like the added harp tones at the beginning too. Its a very nice addition to the scene.
It really tells you something of the story and isn't a pure game-backround and adds something that I only can describe as a new core of the music or better that the music become a (or a new) heart.
If the whole music in KotOR II would be like this...*sigh*
Great remastering (is that the noun of to remaster...)

Wow! I can't believe that a lot of people liked the music. After I made this remaster, I thought about redoing the entire soundtrack, and I've even started remixing some tracks, all with the similar themes in this mod.

This remastered bit of 'The Jedi' is so gorgeous. I actually get a little teary eyed when I hear it. Thanks so much.

Can't say that I find this much of an improvement. I thought the sparse texture of the music worked brilliantly in the game, so all this added reverb makes me feel like I'm on the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, not the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine. The volume has also been amped up, resulting in considerably clipping (distortion) at the end of the file, which is bound to be a distraction during gameplay. I can't tell what this added "main theme" is, aside from some jarringly dissonant notes superimposed on the first string phrase. Is it the Force theme from the films? Confusing. The harp chords that another user mentioned were always part of the music, by the way.

Those dissonant tones are annoying as hell.

I've been trying to compare it for a long time and I found no difference at all...
...just because I already use the TSL Music Improvement Mod. Shameful !
