Description:

Mod Rating: Beginner

Rtas Vadum brings us another mod, editing the colour of the powers Shock, Lightning and Storm to red, rather than their traditional blue or purple. The screenshot below gives a more eloquent description than could be written here. The mod is pretty simple, and while effective, requires very little effort, and the final appearance isn't very much like lightning. Perhaps that was the point, though.

N.B.: Please leave constructive criticism, particularly if you download and use this mod, as the download-counter isn't very informative.

	Readme File: Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic The Sith Lords Mod Type: Graphical Edit Author: Rtas Vadum Description: The "Force Lighnting" power was first seen in Return of The Jedi. As the movie shows it, the lighnting that the Emperor uses is a blue/purple-ish color. For TSL, it uses a similar color for the Shock, Force Lighnting, and Force Storm powers. This mod changes the color of those three powers to a dark red. While this does deviate from the canon appearance of the lightning, i think it does give a more powerful look to the powers. Installation: Simply put the tga file into your override folder, and the change will effect any current saved games. Note that this will also work for KOTOR, since both games use the same texture(rather that they are named the same in both games). Uninstall: Remove the fx_lightning.tga from your override.

@acrazy1one: I just thought of it awhile ago, before i actually got both of the games. Once i had them both, i decided to do it. But the only problem with this is the red color isn't seen very well when using shock, or anything similar.

It is actually canon. It's called 'Blood Lightning'. Where as FL justs shocks people, this is more like force Drain or something similar. It drains the user of his life force. Then it transfers either into the person who did the shocking or into a storage device. Many Sith did this to Jedi that they would capture and use the Jedi's life essence to help defeat a rival sith or jedi master.

I'll have to check out this mod.

Oh and sorry for the double post but...

May I have permission to use a similar idea for one of my mods? I would like to make a Lightning mod that gives a bunch of colors. But the moderators wouldn't post it, and I think it's cause I didn't ask you and Assassing3 for permission to use your basic ideas in it...

This is actually quite similar to the Force Drain power in Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy.

What you could do for a version two, is replace the default lightning, and make the Drain Life and Death Field effects red instead, to match the JK games... stick out tongue

@ DarthDingDong: Only problem with doing that is the fact that Lightning and Death Field use the same texture, but Drain Force does use a different one.

this is really kool i like all of it except where the hands are still blue, also is there a way to make the force lightning orange

the reason it looks so terrible is because the dude who took the screenshot has kotor 2 on really low graphics. otherwise with high detail i bet they look quite good. im gonna give it ago, but if it looks how i think it will 10/10
