The original review was in semi-AOL speak and left out some stuff, so mod ta-da, here's a somewhat brand new review for everyone!
Shazam, we give you the official KotOR 2 Patch. It fixes fixes quite a few issues, bugs and adds a few new features to the game. A short list of what you can expect from it follows:
Quote: * Added voice lines for Opo Chano when the PC states they can repair the protocol droid themselves on Telos (dark side)
* Added support for the Intel i915 chipset
* Corrects a crash issue at the beginning of the dialogue after entering the Harbringer
* Corrects a crash issue when transitioning between B-4D4 to the main character after Czerka Mainframe quest on Telos (light side)
* Corrects an art issue with NPCs that appear in the mine foreman's log on Peragus
* Corrects a geometry issue inside the Jekk Jekk Tarr bar on Nar Shaddaa
* Corrects an issue with ATI Radeon cards being incorrectly reported in the swinfo.txt
* Corrects an issue with Atton missing from force cage in the Telos Academy
* Corrects swoop race forfeiting issue. Players can now win races after forfeiting a race.
* Corrects an issue with the swoop bike getting stuck in air in the swoop race mini-game
* Corrects stuck issue when reboarding Ebon Hawk on Nar Shaddaa
* Corrects a text/voice mismatch in Kreia's dialogue on Malachor
* Corrects a scripting issue with Batano quest on Telos (light side)
* Corrects a scripting issue with Devaronian conversation on Telos
* Updates a journal entry for "A Hidden Power" quest on Korriban
* Updates a journal entry for the "Fuel Sabotage" bonus mission on Telos
* Master Vash’s corpse will now yield a lightsaber if you have a lightsaber when you kill him on Korriban (dark side)
* Khoonda Gun Turrets will no longer appear if you destroy them on Dantooine (dark side)
* Reduced the repetition of party members' voice lines when opening doors and containers
Also, this patch is only for USA versions of the game. It will not work for the UK/other international versions. The patches for them can be found at the official LucasArts site.

God, this patch keeps doing the following:
O.K., I have downloaded the patch numerous times and restarted the computer whenever the patch did not install. But, still, I get some error about "old file not found, not going to be overwritten because contents do not match" or some error like that.
WHY?!?! I want to continue playing this game from where I left off. I was waiting for a patch.
HELP ME PLEASE!!

I kept getting the 'old file blah blah blah problem' but this was because this is the US patch, so i went to the lucasarts website and got the UK version from the support page. Maybe this is the problem some people are having with the patch, this is the English version but its US-English not the UK version.

This feature already exists in TSL but not in KOTOR if you don`t know that.
As for needing previous patches; I installed the v1.03 patch for KOTOR without having last two and it still works normally.

the patch says it fixes the swoop racer floating bug but i still have it. i managed to get second place time on onderon by hitting the tunnel ceiling and getting pushed down somehow but on telos i cant do anything...i had read sometihng about not practicing on telos which i had done in my first game and this second game i just asked about the course and the times and then persuaded the guy to drop the entry fee and i floated up again...really fricken annoying...lots of credits to be had from swoop racing that i cant get now...whats the deal?
aigh dont ask him for the track records if you dont want to float...first place is 41 something
ok so i go in and just pay to race and it goes normal then i persuade for my second race and its normal again but i still dont have first and want to know what i have to beat. then next race i float up. so i reloaded after posting that last one and go in and persuade right away and float up so i figure it only worked first time because i paid. so i reloaded again and went in and paid and floated up. making me slightly frustrated. ^btw someone can throw these all in one post or something and if anyone has a guarantee to a normal race id like to hear it please thanks

I mean normally I would get it no matter what but my pc seems to have troubles playing it after I patch it.
so my question is (being as I can play it well without the patch) is it worth it?
I mean are there any mods that have to have the patch to work correctly?
and for the last one is anybody else getting an error message about the Kotor2 exe file?

I guess it depends on the person. I used the patch for years up until recently. Either my anti-virus software or my spyware software made it so I can't play the game with it anymore. If you're doing fine without it, then don't worry about it.

i was clearing out mods yesterday trying to get the dark aprentice mod or the atris lightsaber return mod to work. i cleared out everything and this kept poping up the windows send error report. so i reinstalled but now it freezes after character selection and i had to update the video drivers to fix that before?
any ideas?

Yep! Recently in LucasArts forums, it's been noticed that there is no place to download the 1.0a patch from (except lucasarts.com, but for some reason people can't download from there). This is the 1.0b, so is there any chance that someone uploads the first patch here on Filefront? That would be a great help.
BTW, I downloaded the two French patches for TSL. Would they be any useful here on KotorFiles?

-When i gonna go out from the 1st planet (Pregarus II or what) it repeats the sith guard kill minigame and at 2nd time my screen is black

ok some of you (xcuse my language) FOOLS. cannot fully dl the patch that reason is this: you dled kotor somewhere off the internet and used a no cd crack on it. the patch wont work you cracked it. if you want this patch to work all you do is this: uninstall and reinstall the game. before you use the d**n no cd crack, get the patch. and then run or replace the kotor2.exe file.
my problem is this. now that i dled the patch the console wont come up when i press ~. meaning i cant type giveitem. anyone else got this problem or a fix to it?

Patch B must not need patch A since no one not even the official site has it anymore. I searched for about an hour and could not locate a copy of patch A (except fileshack which wants a registration so they can kma).
I just installed B by itself and it works just fine (aside from the game still being defective, but that's Obsidian).

I know what's going on.
It will 'patch' wiith a texture pack and then though it won't freeze, it doesn't register the progress of the 'patch' until it's completed.
The final five percent is going to take about forty minutes, give or take, maybe more.
Longer than it took to install the game.

Everyone should just avoid this patch, it breaks the game... I encountered two bugs that made it impossible to progress in the game. If you reinstall the game without the patch, any saves you made with the patched version will still work with the retail version.

As for patch being aborted. Buy a legal copy or make sure to :1. patch 2. make copy of original kotor2.exe 3. crack. When new patch comes out 1. Repleace cracked .exe with original patched one. 2. Apply newest patch 3. Copy new patched .exe 4. Apply Crack.
I can't get this to install. It says its not a valid Win32 application... Can anyone help me out?

My only compatible computer has an intel i965 chipset (I know, my Vista is much better) and is not compatible, (or for that matter, it doesn`t work at all) and the patch fixes that. Unfortunately, like SO many other people, the patch decided to stop at 95-96%, RRRRGGG. After uninstalling/re-installing 5 times, where the patch might stop at 16%, or 89%, so I unistalled the game one last time, and ran ccleaner on registry files, (http://www.ccleaner.com/), and within 2 tries, it worked!! As most people who have experienced this problem, the LucasaArts support forum is COMPLETELY useless.. Anyone who has this problem, rejoice! A solution!

The unofficial made patch 1.0c by xenon fixes a BUNCHLOAD of bugs for the PC version. I finally got the swoop race bug fixed YAY.
Simply finish installing 1.0b patch, then get the 1.0c patch by xenon. Game runs almost perfect now

alright people, if your getting "old file not found error" i got it too and was able to figure it out. The game MUST be in it's ORIGINAL state without any mods that modify or change the base files (usually restoration content). in addition, do not do the Enable Cheats for the swkotor2.ini file or manually adjust any of the base files, modules, or lips data files before running the patch installer. An easy way to do this is just do a hard uninstall - reinstall of the game.

Okay, I got the same "old file not found. however a file with the same name was found" message. Like poster #10 above, my problem was that I have a UK version of the game and was trying to patch it with a US patch. Apparently, they sell the UK version in the US, where I live. Anyhow, go to the official website (http://www.lucasarts.com/support/update/kotor2int.html) and download patches 1.0a and 1.0b. Apply them in alphabetical order.
I want to play the game, but it keeps glitching and closing on me. I don't live in the US, but I need this patch. Please can you make another KOTOR2 patch for other countries?
And another I found out, every time I get close to finishing the game, the game crashes, and when I go back in, I find that all my inventory has been deleted, except for the things I have equipped. Plus, I can't change party members because there all gone too! I load back to my auto save, but then it doesn't finish loading, then it crashes. It happened when I was in Freedon Nadd's tomb on Dxun. I need a patch to fix this, because I am sooooooo annoyed!

I am sure most of you already knew this by now, but this was an incomplete, rushed game. This game sucks compared to Kotor1, and this is almost unplayable for me because of the freezes. Come on LucasArts, give us some more fixes, after all you guys are the ones that ruined the game (We are still waiting for Kotor3).
