The Minigun Mod (0.7) - File Description  


Description:
BioWare sure made a great story, right? Well, they did win awards for it and Knights of the Old Republic did win around 40 game of the year awards in 2003. If they were judged by the weapon models they made, They wouldn’t have gotten close to winning anything.

Sithspecter returns to the modding scene to give us a preview of his upcoming Ultimate Ranged Mod. This means there will be several new blaster models included in such a mod. This one focuses on a U.S. M134 A-2 Vulcan Mini-gun. It was a weapon featured in the movies such as Predator. It also has a high poly count which means it will use a little more memory in your game. If it causes some lagging when using it, you know why.

If I follow the logic correctly, the author didn’t use the TSL Patcher to make it compatible with the two .2da files because this is just a preview file. Basically the author says you have to either use this one or other mods that you’re using that uses the baseitems.2da file or the ammunitiontypes.2da file. The ammunitiontypes.2da is used by T7nowhere’s Weapons of the Old Republic mod. The author does insure you that once the project is done, it will use the TSL Patcher. Enjoy! big grin

This mod is a simple weapon model mod that features the first animated weapon (to my knowledge). My minigun is my pride and joy, a 7,900 poly model that took about a week to model, UV map, and texture. It is based on the real United States M134 A-2 Vulcan Minigun. It has been featured in several movies, including Predator. I spent a large amount of time on this, and I believe it turned out very nicely. Older PC's may have problems running it, as it is a VERY high poly weapon model for an RPG, so if you have problems, cease using this weapon.

If you have WotOR installed, you will have .2da conflicts. You will simply have to choose one or the other or edit the .2da's yourself. Remember, this is only the teaser for the Ultimate Ranged Mod project. The final mod will be fully compatible.

Simply extract all the files included in the .zip into your KotOR override folder.

To get the minigun, enter: giveitem g_w_minigun01
