Telling Atton he is his father is the "teasing" part. Did you not see Empire Strikes Back? Maybe that is why it doesn't make sense to you.
Or perhaps you didn't know that his name is actually Atton, not Anton. That is the "new nickname" the Exile is saying.
So we got "Anton, I am your father" which is a new nickname for Atton and a little teasing. What's not to understand if you actually know that Atton is his real name and you have seen ESB and all the jokes people have made about the revelation scene over the last 28 years.
I've always said if you don't get the picture, you should ask before you vote. It's obvious that one of those two things I mentioned didn't click for you or it would have made sense. |

Posts: 307 | I think Penguin Unit understood it... How could anyone not... and he just didn't think it made sense to him as to why it is in the least bit funny. I understand it perfectly (When I first saw it, I was looking for some reason why it is funny... couldn't find one), and I don't see why it is funny to some people. The 'I am your father' is an overused quotation, simply a cliche, while the Anton joke isn't really... Sensible towards me...
Now, this is all assuming there isn't some hidden meaning as to why this should be funny, so sorry it I am wrong. |

For someone who doesn't like having an opinion forced on him, you sure have no trouble trying to force it yourself or in this case try to manipulate people into seeing it with your point of view as if someone finding this funny is wrong.
As for the picture today. The author did a mess up with Atton's name. I tried to salvage it by adding the nickname part in the caption. It worked for some people and for some people it didn't. That's the nature of this PotD business. |
